2016年，英語專業成功升本，十大菠菜网正规平台成立，2017年，新設本科專業漢語言文學招生，形成了英語系、中文系、大學外語公共教研室的基本建制，主要培養基礎教育階段中文和英語師資。
十大菠菜网正规平台現有專任教師60人，其中教授5人、副教授20人，主任編輯2人，講師20人；具有博士學位18人，碩士學位40人；有江蘇省“333工程”第三層次人才1人，江蘇省“青藍工程”學術帶頭人1人，優秀青年骨幹教師2人；省級普通話測試員3人。學院常年聘請外籍教師授課，有20多名教師曾赴美、英、加、澳、日、俄等國家著名高校交流和進修學習。2015年學校升格成本科院校以來，學院教師獲批國家級和部省級課題10餘項，廳局級課題40餘項，獲省級和廳局級優秀科研成果獎6項，公開發表學術論文150餘篇，其中SCI和SSCI收錄12篇，CSSCI期刊收錄20餘篇，中文核心期刊收錄50餘篇，出版學術專著和教材24部。中國語言文學為“十四五”江蘇省重點建設學科。
菠菜擁有省級一流課程2門、校級精品課程15門，獲批14項省級和校級教改課題。教師在各級教學大賽和微課大賽中獲省級以上獎20餘項，指導學生參加省級以上學科類比賽獲獎90餘項，指導大學生創新創業項目60餘項。學院創新對外交流形式，深化國際合作育人，成果顯著：從2020年起，連續三年舉辦中俄大學生語言文化線上交流活動；鼓勵學生境外（線上）學習交流，制定與台灣彰化師範大學中文和英語專業交換學習方案，實現了學分互認；有3名學生于2019年赴美國短期交流，英語專業1名優秀畢業生攻讀境外碩士。學院近三年畢業生年終就業率達95%以上，取得了良好的社會效益。2021年，英語專業獲批江蘇省一流專業建設點。
面向未來，菠菜将秉承“博愛塑魂”校訓精神，大力實施“特色發展、融通發展、創新發展、開放發展”四大戰略，積極開展外國語言文學和漢語言文學科學研究，加強特色課程建設和課堂教學改革，不斷提升本科人才培養能力，為普通中小學和特殊教育學校培養高質量的中英文師資做出積極貢獻。
School of Languages
School of Languages in the Nanjing Normal University of Special Education, upgraded from offering junior college English programs to hosting English undergraduate education, was set up in 2016. In 2017, the Chinese language and literature undergraduate program was established and started to recruit students nationwide. Henceforward, the English Department, Chinese Department, and College English Teaching and Research Department were formed. With the two undergraduate education programs, the School is dedicated to training English and Chinese teachers for elementary and secondary education.
The School has 60 full-time teachers, including 5 professors, 20 associate professors and 20 lecturers, among whom 18 have doctoral degrees and 40 hold master’s degrees. Together, there is one third-level talent of the 333 Project of Jiangsu Province, one academic leader of the Blue Project of Jiangsu Province, two outstanding young backbone teachers, and three provincial Mandarin testers. The school has been employing foreign teachers for several courses and 20 of our facilities have visited prestigious universities in the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, Japan, Russia and other countries for exchanges and advanced study. Since the University was upgraded for hosting undergraduate education in 2015, members of the School have been approved with more than ten research projects at national and ministerial levels, as well as over 40 projects at the provincial level, and six projects were honored with the outstanding scientific research output awards by Jiangsu Province and its municipal departments or bureaus. Over the years, the faculty members published more than 150 academic papers, including 12 released in SCI and SSCI journals, over 20 in CSSCI journals, more than 50 in Chinese core journals, and 24 academic monographs and textbooks. In 2021, Chinese language and literature was selected as the provincial key discipline in Jiangsu Province.
The School boasts two provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses, fifteen school-level excellent courses, and 14 teaching reform projects at the provincial and university levels. Teachers have won more than 20 awards of or above the provincial level in various teaching competitions and micro-course teaching contests, and guided students to winning over 90 prizes in different kinds of provincial discipline competitions, and more than 60 College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Programs. The School is devoted to adopting new forms of foreign exchanges to deepen international cooperation in education, obtaining remarkable achievements. Since 2020, we have been holding online language and culture exchange activities for Chinese and Russian college students for three years in a row. We encourage students to study overseas (online) and formulated schemes for exchange programs with the National Changhua University of Education for Chinese and English majors, realizing mutual recognition and credit transfer. Three of our students visited the United States for short-term exchange in 2019, and one outstanding graduate majoring in English pursued a master's degree overseas. In the past three years, the employment rate of our graduates surpassed 95%, achieving good social benefits. In 2021, the English major was approved as a first-class undergraduate specialty construction site in Jiangsu Province.
Facing the future, the School will adhere to the motto of “love shaping soul”, implement the strategy of “featured, inclusive, innovative and open development”, carry out scientific research on Chinese and foreign languages and literature actively, and strengthen the development of featured courses and classroom teaching reforms. We will work relentlessly to enhance our ability in undergraduate talent cultivation, so as to make greater contributions to nurturing high-quality Chinese and English teachers for general primary and secondary schools as well as special education schools.
